Making Progress

Eddie has been making some progress. This was one of those rare moments that I was able to catch something on tape :) He has been trying REALLY HARD to make some sounds. He has been getting really good at sayong "BOO". We try to play peek-a-boo with him a lot now because we like hearing his little voice!! He's also been going "woo woo" for a train and saying "ma ma" and "da da". He's not calling us mama and dada(not consistently anyway) but he walks around sometimes making the sounds (like a babbling baby would). He can howl like a wolf, say "woof", and make other sounds such as "mmmmm" and "ffffff". We work with him every day and we are trying to increase his signing as well so he won't get frustrated. Hopefully I'll be able to get more video of Eddie making some sound!! It's so hard to catch though because he usually clams up or gets really silly when he sees the camera.

On another bright note....our 5 and a half month old daughter has begun to say "mama". At first I thought it was a fluke but she pretty much did it consistently all night(except when I had the camera out of course). I'm going to try and get a video of it posted as soon as I can catch it! Our Fiona has "Cindy Brady syndrome" BIG TIME!!! When she sees the red light of the camera she stops whatever she is doing and stares into the camera.

Eddie is such a dynamic little guy- its like he doesnt even need words to communicate bc his face does all the work. Im so happy to hear his words though- i can only imagine how it makes you feel! Great work.
Hey- when we were first doing signs with madeline we loved the series "signing Time" on tv. makes it a lot of fun and thats what got me hooked. then it prompted me to take ASL. and what a cool skill he could have later, when he doesnt need it anymore.
Congrats on both of the kids big word weeks!
xoxo
